Arsenal's legend and English football pundit, Ian Wright, literally broke down in the studio, during the match between Arsenal and Manchester city, in which the North London club suffered an embarrassing 5:0 defeat. A visibly disappointed Ian Wright, subtly took a swipe at Mikel Arteta, for his decision to loan William Saliba but choose to keep Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, Chambers, Rob Holding, Kolasinac and the rest.
He implied that, he does not understand how the manager, will say that William Saliba cannot be in the squad, because he thinks he is not ready but then, chooses to keep other substandard defenders, because he feels they are the standard.
But then, if the whole situation is analysed thoroughly, one needs to seriously question, why any manager, would prefer to send a generational talent like William Saliba out on loan to gain experience, but chooses to line up a 'back three' of Sead Kolašinac, Rob Holding and Callum Chambers?. During Marseille's game against Saint-Etienne in French ligue 1, William Saliba completed 97 passes, completed 6/6 successful dribbles, 96% pass accuracy, made 5 clearances and won 8/10 duels, that is highly impressive for a person, that is not ready.
