Barcelona took a trip to the Spanish capital to face Atletico Madrid in a mouthwatering clash at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday. Unfortunately Luis Suarez, who joined Atleti from Barca this summer, was unable to face his old club, but it still promised to be a big game, with Antoine Griezmann also coming up against his former side.
And at the break, the hosts took the lead in comic circumstances. A Barca attack had broken down and an Atletico player launched a pass forward to Yannick Carrasco, who was running towards the Barca box. Goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter-Stergen however made a huge blunder, as he came out a long way from his goal to try to prevent Carrasco from advancing close to the box. The attempt backfired, as Carrason nicked the ball past him, took a touch to steady himself and slotted into an empty net from range.
This has got fans reacting, and they simply cannot believe Ter-Stergen has made such a howler:
Indeed it was a huge blunder, especially coming from someone like Ter Stergen. Barca have 45 mins to turn things around.
