Barely one week after American Cristian Pulisic and his Chelsea teammates helped the English club to win its second ever UCL against its fellow English side, Manchester City, he has landed another major trophy to his cabinet.
Yesterday, being a Sunday, the American men national Football team and their Mexican counterparts threw tackles at the final of the maiden CONCACAF Nations League. And in the cracker of a match, the Yankees carried the day after the Chelsea striker scored a late spot kick against Mexico to help the USA lift the trophy.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MATCH:
After American defender, Mark McKenzie, committed a blunder in his own penalty box on the 63rd second into the first half, Mexico's Jesus Corona took advantage of the moment, and made it 1 - 0 in favour of his country.
Gio Reyna made it 1 - 1 on the 26th minute for the USA after he took advantage of McKennie's rebound.
On the 76th minute, Diego Lienez of Mexico scored the second goal for his side to make it 2 - 1 against the USA.
The USA balanced up again as Mckennie headed the ball behind Mexico's net on the 81st minute to make the match 2 - 2.
And on the 113th minute of play which was the second of the extra time since the match was 2 - 2 at the end of the normal ninety minutes, the USA was awarded a penalty. And the team's captain, Cristian Pulisic, rose up to the occasion, and with it, scored the winning goal for the Yankees. With that, the goal line became 3 - 2 in favour of the USA.
Although, the Mexicans also had their own opportunity to make it 3 - 3 through a penalty on the 122nd minute, Horvart - the America's goalie - was able to block the spot kick.
Don't you think he deserves a place in the race for the Ballon D'or?
