Lionel Messi Has Never Played Football With An English Player In His Career

Since making his professional debut in 2004, Messi has developed into a dominant figure in world football. Prior to his move to Paris Saint Germain last summer, the Argentine International had spent 17 years of his senior career at Camp Nou where he scored 672 goals, won 35 team trophies, among other individual accolades. Moreso, throughout his career, Messi has featured alongside footballers from different parts of the world such as Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Africa and many others, but unfortunately he has never had the opportunity to share the same locker room with an English player. This is because no English footballer has made it into Barcelona's first team in the last 31 years since Gary Lineker. Even at Paris Saint Germain, there's still no footballer from the Three Lions squad at the club and this further confirms the truth that many English players do no like playing outside England except when they want to see out their careers.

However, the 34 year old missed the chance to ply his trade in England when he opted to join PSG last summer despite the fact that he is currently following two top Premier League teams (Chelsea and Manchester City) on Instagram. Needful to say that except an English player can join PSG in the near future or Messi comes to the Premier league before retirement, he may never get the chance to call an English player his teammate.
