10 Angry Men: The Top 10 Players With The Most Red Cards In The History Of Football.

I used to think that no player likes to receive a red card, but after I made some research to see who were the most red carded players in football history, I changed my mind.

In that light, this article brings to you a list of the top 10 most red carded players in football history, and the number of red cards they have received over their career.

Sit back and relax, as we go through the list of football's '10 Angry Men'.

10. Vinnie Jones

The former Chelsea man may be known more as an actor than a footballer, but the 12 red cards he picked up in his career put him in 10th place in this list.

One fun fact is that he holds the record for the fastest booking in football history, when he picked up a yellow card after just 3 seconds in a 1992 FA Cup match.

9. Mauricio Pochettino

The former Tottenham manager may have seemed like the perfectly calm man, but during his playing days, the Argentine had his own aggressive streak.

He managed to pick up 13 red cards during his footballing days.

8. Felipe Melo

In a career that has seen the Brazilian play for many clubs including Juventus, Inter Milan and Galatasaray among others, Felipe Melo is a true veteran of the game.

However, never try to get on his bad side, or dribble too much if you don't want to find yourself on the ground.

Nicknamed the 'pitbull' and 'gladiator', Melo has picked up 14 red cards in his career and although he is 36 now, he might very well pick up some more before he retires.

7. Yannick Cahuzac

Currently playing for Lens, the 35 year old midfielder has received 17 red cards in his career, with him setting a french league records in the 2016/17 season with 3 red cards in 4 games.

Trust me, it is not easy to set records like that.

6. Pablo Alfaro

The former Sevilla and Barcelona man was a certified terror to strikers. He was like a lawn mower, and in amassed 18 red cards in his career to make him the second most red carded player in La Liga history.

5. Paolo Montero

The former Juventus man was a very talented defender who had a successful career with Juventus where he won 4 Serie A titles and played with the likes of Zinedine Zidane.

However, the former centre and left back had an aggressive streak which saw him pick 21 red cards, 16 of those which came in the Serie A to make him Serie A's most red carded player.

4. Alexis Ruano Delgado

The 35 year old spaniard is still currently playing football, and over a long career, he has managed to pick up 22 red cards for himself.

3. Cyril Rool

Cyril Rool comes in third place on this list, and during his career which saw him play for Olympique Marseille and other big french clubs, he picked up a record 25 red cards.

Who knew that french footballers could be so aggressive.

2. Sergio Ramos

Regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, Sergio Ramos is no stranger to creating records.

Not only is he one of the most successful defenders of all time with 22 major trophies won, he is also one of the highest goalscoring defenders of all time with 127 goals scored.

However he only holds the record for the second most red carded player of all time with 34 red cards, 20 of these coming in La Liga and 6 in the Champions League to make him the most red carded player of both La Liga and the Champions League.

1. Gerardo Bedoya

Gerardo Bedoya may not have made his name as a very popular player, but he sure claimed the top spot for the most red carded player of all time.

Playing as a defensive midfielder and a defender during his career, Bedoya collected an incredible 46 red cards.

But what is even more remarkable is that his anger streak followed him into his managerial career, as he was sent off just after 21 minutes in his first match as an assistant manager.

So there you have it guys football's 10 angry men.

Do you think Sergio Ramos will be able to move up higher on this list over the remaining years of his career?
