SAD: Paolo Rossi Is Dead

According to a report by RAI via The Daily Mail, 1982 World Cup Winner, Italian legend and one-time Ballon d'Or winner Paolo Rossi has passed out at the age of 64.

The sad and painful news was announced by RAI Sport presenter Enrico Varriale, Late Paolo Rossi was working with RAI Sport as a football pundit before his death.

"Such terrible sad news: Paolo Rossi has left us," Varriale added.

Paolo Rossi's wife Federica Calppalletti also acknowledge the sad news via social media, followed by his by his RAI colleague Varriale.

As of the time of his football career, the Italian striker played for Juventus, Como, Vicenza, Perugia, Milan and Hellas Verona followed by his retirement in 1987.

Paolo Rossi netted 20 goals in 48 appearance for the Azzurri, alongside six goals in the 1982 trophy victory in Spain.

Rossi was Capocannoniere of Serie A in 1977-78 with 24 goals, won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1984, UEFA Supercup in 1984-85, the European Cup with Juventus in 1985 and two Serie A titles in 1982 and ’84.

Paolo Rossi died just days after Diego Armando Maradona.
