PSG's quest to win the UEFA Champions League trophy this season suffered an untimely end on Wednesday evening after Bayern Munich eliminated the Parisians from the European tournament at the Round of 16.

PSG has been trying to win the UEFA Champions League trophy in the last 10 years since their Arab Billionaires took over but, the club has been unable to win the title.

PSG currently has the most expensive Player in the world and the second most expensive Player in the World in their squad as the club signed Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe in order to bolster their chance of winning the UEFA Champions League.

About two summers ago, PSG signed Lionel Messi on free transfer but the Former Barcelona Forward became one of the most paid Players in the world after PSG signed him. PSG was able to assemble a dream attacking trio of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi.

One would think that the club will do well but, they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 during the last season.

This season, PSG has been in a great form, with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi scoring goals for the French club but, the club failed to go beyond the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League as they failed to score any goal against Bayern Munich in the first leg and second leg of the knockout rounds.

Despite having one of the most expensive squads in the World in the last few seasons, the best that PSG has done in the UEFA Champions League was reaching the Final in 2020 and they lost it to Bayern Munich.

According to Transfer Market, PSG Total squad value is worth €889million. If money can create an easy path to the UEFA Champions League trophy, PSG would have won it Since but, the club keep falling down in the European tournament.
