How Saudi Arabian Business Consortium taking over Newcastle is not good news for the EPL

The English Premier league was hit with the news on Thursday about the completion of the Newcastle United takeover by Suadi Arabian Business Consortium who bought the club for close to 305 million euros from former owner and British Businessman, Mike Ashley.

It is the biggest club takeover since Abu Dhabi Businessman, Sheikh Mansour took over Manchester City in 2008. Inasmuch as this takeover means good news for Newcastle, here is why it is bad news for the rest of the EPL.

Newcastle new owners have a reported net worth of close to 320 Billion US Dollars that is almost 290 Billion dollars more than the next Richest club owner in the EPL which is still Man City's owner, Sheik Mansour. This gap will only mean one thing, domination and lack of competition between the big clubs in the EPL.

Yes, Newcastle will be successful with this kind of investment but there is a big chance of monopoly of money and ownership inform of TV rights which Newcastle United will now enjoy the lion share leaving the rest for the other teams to share among themselves in the league.

Also, if Newcastle can now sign any top Player from any other club whether big or small that they want, because they now have a lot of money to do so and this is not good news for the EPL.
