NIGERIANS ABROAD: Check Out How Some Stars Performed In Europa League Qualifiers

It was back to back action in European organized competition's as teams from top European league sweat it out in a Play-Off series to determine who will join the exempted teams in the Champions and Europa leagues respectively.

Amidst these actions, Nigerian stars and Nigerian descent players were actively involved for their sides and shone like million stars giving their teams edge heading into the second fixture with their Goals and Assist.

This forms the basics of this content as we take a review of how the stars performed with their various clubs.

1. SHEHU ABDULLAHI (Omonia Nicosia, Cyprus)

Nigeria Super Eagles utility player, Shehu who has been ever present for his Cyprus side was deeply involved as his team welcomed Belgian outfit, Royal Antwerp, wherein they triumphed over the visitors in a six goals thriller given them an edge as they visit Belgium next week for the reverse fixture.

The Uyo born striker came in as a second half and made his presence felt with a couple of shots at goal regardless the game ending in a stalemate against Polish side, Legia Warsaw.

5. Henry Onyekuru (Olympiacos, Greece)

The skillful Super Eagles winger lead his side to a convincing win against Slovan Bratislava .

6 Rabiu Ali x Henty Ezekiel (Slovan Bratislava)

The duo compatriot featured for Slovan giants as the were thumbed off by Henry Onyekuru, Olympiacos setting an uphill for the reverse fixture.

7.Joe Aribo (Rangers, Scotland)

The Super Eagles sensational midfield maestro was actively involved as his Scottish side recorded a slim win over Alashkert.

8. TAIWO AWONIYI (Union Berlin, Germany)

The former U17 striker carried over his league form with his German outfit, Union Berlin, into their Europa league playoff as he netted a brace to aid his side record a convincing win away from home.

9.Aniekpeno Udo x Uzochukwu Humphrey (Kups, Finland)

Udo and his Finnish side witnessed one of their worst days as they were thrashed before their home fans as German side, Union Berlin, came calling.

With the disappointing result, Udo and his fellow Compatriot, Humphrey Chance of progressing to the next round looks faint.

10. Yusuf Lawal (Neftchi Baku Azerbaijan)

The Nigerian striker stole the show as his Azerbaijan side were held to a draw by Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa in a six goals thriller.

The rampaging Striker bagged a brace for his side thereby keeping the chances of his side progressing to the next stage visible as they return to the holy land of Israel to face Maccabi Haifa in the reverse fixture.

11. Akinkunmi Amoo (Hammarby, Sweden)

The petit winger effort wasn't enough to lift his side from a looming heavy defeat against Swiss giants, Basel, in Switzerland with a scoreline making the reverse fixture seem difficult for the Swedish outfit.

12. Anthony Nwakeme (Trabzonspor, Turkey)

The Nigeria international fired blank as his Turkish side were handed a home defeat by Coach Jose Mourinho tutored, As Roma side.

13. Yunusa Owolabi Muritala (Riga FC, Latvia)

Muritala couldn't do much for his Latvian side as he effort aided the team in securing a point from a looming defeat.

14.Anderson Esiti (PAOK, Greece)

The former Super Eagles invitee featured for his Greece based outfit as they salvaged a point at the stroke of an hour to keep their chances of progressing alive.

15. James Leke x Azubuike Okechukwu x Kayode (Sivasspor, Turkey)

The trio of Nigerian born footballers tested defeat with their Turkish outfit as they were condemned to a home defeat by Danish side, Copenhagen.
