5 European Top Players That Could Join Chelsea In January 2022

Chelsea has agreed to buy Fenerbahce defender Atilla Szalai in January when the transfer window opens. Atilla Szalai could be at Chelsea in January to finish the 2021/22 season with the London club.

2. Aurelien Tchouameni

Chelsea is currently leading the race to sign the Monaco youngster Aurelien Tchouameni. Other clubs such as Liverpool, Paris-Saint-Germain, and Manchester United are also in the race to sign the young French midfielder. Tchouameni could be in England as early as January if Chelsea pay the release clause in his current contract at Monaco.

3. Eder Militao

Eder Militao joined Real Madrid from FC Porto in 2019 in a deal worth £50 million. Chelsea is monitoring the condition of Militao at Real Madrid. Although, Militao still has 3 years left in his current Real Madrid contract. Militao could move to Chelsea, as Real Madrid is also plotting a move for the Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger in the summer of 2022.

4. Wesley Fofana

Fofana joined Leicester City from Saint Étienne in a deal worth £36 million in 2020. The French defender could join Chelsea in January as the club is looking for Antonio Rudiger's replacement. Chelsea has inquired about the availability of the Leicester City defender in the upcoming January transfer window. The 20-year-old center-back has been phenomenal since he joined Leicester City.

5. Luiz Diaz

Porto winger Luiz Diaz is another player that could join Chelsea in January. The 24-year-old Colombian winger joined Porto in 2019. He has scored over 20 goals in 70 appearances for the club. Diaz is one of the best players in Portugal Primeira Liga this season so far. Chelsea needs a winger at the moment. Luiz Diaz is a fantastic player that will suit Thomas Tuchel's style of football.
