Why Lampard Doesn't Deserve Any Praise For Saving Chelsea From Relegation

Last weekend, Chelsea got their first win under Caretaker Manager Frank Lampard after beating Bournemouth by 3-1 at Vitality Stadium.

Seeing that the West London club has been flirting with relegation in the last few weeks, the win against Bournemouth was enough to confirm their status as a Premier League club next season because they have been saved, regardless of the outcome of their remaining Premier league games this season.

After the win, the narrative about Frank Lampard's time at Chelsea changed totally as some Fans started praising him for saving Chelsea from the Premier league drop this season.

In my opinion, I don't think Frank Lampard deserves any praise or plaudits for winning a game against Bournemouth. It was quite brave of him to accept Chelsea's offer to become Caretaker Manager when he did, especially with the terrible state of the squad at the time he took over but, he could have certainly done more.

Losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton, Arsenal and Brentford was a terrible job, especially with some of the selections that he made with his squad.

If Chelsea had got at least a win and draws in those Premier league Games they lost consecutively under Frank Lampard, the West London club would be worrying about qualifying for the UEFA Conference League and not having real concerns about getting relegated from the Premier league.

Frank Lampard put them in that position in first place. It's only natural that he got them out of that tough jam by fixing his mistakes.
