We have all heard of instances where footballers buy the most shares and claim ownership of football clubs. The likes of Didier Drogba, David Beckham, Gerard Pique, Eden Hazard, Demba Ba all own football clubs.
It has been reported that former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is in collaborations with Kate Upton and Eva Longoria. They are planning to invest in the shares of a Mexican club, Necaxa struggling at the bottom of the Liga MX having won just two games this season.
Necaxa are currently owned by Ernesto Tinajero Flores. The deal for the shares is still awaiting approval from the Mexican Football Federation.
"We are planning to be partners with a group with an extensive experience in soccer and in management of top clubs at an international level", a club statement read.
The club management also said, " After a year of hardwork and meetings, we are very close to sealing a historic investment for our club and Mexican football. This will be a turning point for us. Club Necaxa will continue to operate under the same administration that took over in 2014 promoting the team from second division and consolidating it's position in the first division.
