Cavani joined Manchester United from PSG in the summer on a free transfer

The Uruguayan star signed a year contract with Manchester United in summer. Former Paris saint Germain star had not played a football match since March when his contract expired at PSG. Despite just playing in English football and being expected to take little time to rediscover his form, he has been in terrific form this season netting six goals in twenty three appearances in all competitions including 9 appearances as a substitute.

He has been decisive for Manchester United this season after leading a what looked like impossible comeback at Southampton by netting after replacing at half time. Cavani has formed a great relationship with his new colleagues on and off the field.

Recently, Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked in an interview about Cavani future at Old Trafford, he replied" negotiations are ongoing between the two bodies hopefully we are expecting a positive outcome of the discussion.

Cavani is expected to be handed a start against Newcastle on Sunday when they face each other as they look to reduce the gap between them and league leaders Manchester City.
