EPL: Arteta Hails Four Arsenal Stars After Their 3-1 Win Over Aston Villa

Arsenal claimed all three points in Gameweek 9 as they defeated Aston Villa 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening.

Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Emile Smith Rowe scored Arsenal goals in the game with youngster Jacob Ramsey scoring Aston Villa only goal of the game.

After the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hailed Alexandre Lacazette, Partey, Nuno Tavares, and Smith Rowe for their stunning performance against Villa.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC Sport: "This is what you get [from young players]. They can get you the level, they need the consistency. That comes with experience and maturity. It has to happen now. They showed they can do it tonight.

“It was really impressive what they did, especially Nuno Tavares. This was his first start. To play with courage, credit to the boy.

“We reviewed the Crystal Palace game, how we started and why we weren’t consistent in the game. We put it right today.”

On Alexandre Lacazette: "He was terrific. The way he finished the last game, I already made the decision [to start him]. He worked really hard, he hasn't played many minutes."

On Emile Smith Rowe: "Right direction. This is what he's capable of and what we have to demand."

On Thomas Partey's first goal: "Finally, he's been really trying and he deserves it. He could have scored another two. He was a happy boy."
