I'm not expecting you to have forgotten. But for the sake of reminder, it would be recalled that this former Blackburn/Nigeria foward, Yakubu Aiyegbeni missed a glorious opportunity that would have given Nigeria a great opportunity to leave the group stage in 2010 FIFA World Cup that held in South Africa.
The reason why the Edo State born footballer missed an open goal three yards against South Korea is still vague as figuratively, that opportunity won't even be missed by a baby!
Many critics and fans made different claims on his loss that day. Some even say he was targeting the water bottle near the goalie instead of the goal itself.
Yakubu claims that his loss didn't stop Nigeria from winning.
"Even if I scored, are we going to win the world Cup? That I am not sure of." Yakubu told Goal.
After so many years now, see some photos of him and his wife and kids

The missed open goal that broke many hearts

That's all!
