MUN vs LIV: Solskjaer Should Use The Same Set Of Players That Played Towards The End Of The Atalanta Game

In the last 30 minutes of the Atalanta game, we saw a rejuvenated Manchester United side completing a comeback after going two goals down. The comeback was accomplished because of the choice of player Olè Solskjaer used towards the end of the game. For the match against Liverpool today, I think the Manchester United manager should use the same set of players.

Still in their run of tough games, Manchester United take on an attacking minded Liverpool team today in Premier League match day 9. The Red Devils will be hoping to build on the midweek comeback against Atalanta and secure all three points this evening. While Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Fred are questionable for this match, summer signing, Raphael Varane will miss the game, as he is still nursing the injury he picked up during the international break.

On the flip side, Liverpool will also be gunning for three point, as they will want to catch up with Chelsea and Manchester City, who both got convincing victories yesterday. The Reds will be without Thiago Alcántara and Elliot, while Jones has a chance of featuring in today's team.

Going by the records of the previous 5 matches between these two, we should no doubt expect nothing less than three goals and a fast football in the first 30 minutes. Given Manchester United's recent records, this particular game will be a tough one for them, as I really can't phantom them getting a point today. But if Solskjaer wants to get something out of this match, I think he should use the same set of players, who finished the Atalanta game in the midweek.

Towards the end of the Atalanta game when United needed two goals to turn things around, Solskjaer three substitutions, bringing in Pogba, Cavani and Sancho for McTomminay, Rashford and Greenwood. This tactical substitutions brought balance to United's attack, as it made Ronaldo switch to his natural left-wing (but coming in for headers), while Cavani stayed as the central striker, and then Sancho stayed in the right-wing. Pogba on the other hand played in the middle. These players gave the team the aerial attacking option that we knew Manchester United for when they need a goal under Ferguson.

If Solskjaer want at least a point today, I think he should go with this same team selection.
