Meet O'shea, the Irish defender that Ronaldo slapped during W/Cup qualifiers

O'shea was slapped by Cristiano Ronaldo when Portugal trashed Ireland 2-1 in the world cup qualifiers.

The defender annoyed Ronaldo after he kicked away a ball set for a set piece to be taken by Ronaldo, Cristiano was not given any card by the referee for slapping the footballer but was later booked for removing his Jersey after he scored the winning goal for his country.

Dara Joseph O'Shea was born on March 04, 1999, and he is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion and the Republic of Ireland national team.

O'Shea signed a new three-year contract with West Brom on 24 January 2020. He scored his first league goal on 9 February 2020, in Albion's 2–0 victory over Millwall.

The defender has represented the Republic of Ireland at under-19 and under-21 youth levels. He made his debut for the senior Republic of Ireland national team on 14 October 2020, against Finland. On 1 September 2021, he was named FAI Young Player of the Year for 2020.
