Many Nigerians tend to pronounce certain words incorrectly because, Britain, American, Australia and other English-speaking Countries pronounce some words differently. So today, these are some words we likely pronounce wrongly.
1. Listen
The "t" is silent. Therefore we have li- sn, not lis- tin.
2. Bomb
The "b" is silent. The correct pronunciation is "bom" not "bomb".
3. Fasten
The "t" is silent. Therefore it is "fa-sn" not "fas- ten".
4 Plumber
The "b" is silent. The correct pronunciation is "plo- ma" not "plom- ba"
5. Hasten
The "t" is silent. The correct pronunciation is "ha-sin" not "has-tin"
6. Debt
The "b" is silent. Therefore we have "det" and not "debt".
Many Nigerians would laugh at you when you pronounce it this way, they will think you are pronouncing "death" or "dirt" but the truth is, they even pronounce these words wrongly.
