A Computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or data.
It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data.
You may already know that you can use a Computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web.
Teach yourself how to use a Computer.
We shall try to make this lesson very simple so everyone can understand.
After you locate and press the on button, the computer screen will be on and you'll see icons and a blinking cursor which means you should type or choose a file.
The main screen you'll see is the desktop.
You can access the programs and features you need to use on the desktop.
Things to note
1) Icons are used to represent the different files, applications, and commands on your computer.
An icon is a small image that's intended to give you an idea at a glance of what it represents, like a logo.
Double-clicking an icon on the desktop will open that application or file.
2) The button is where you will power the computer to come on.
Once you press the button on the computer you'll see light which means the computer is on.
3) The screen is where you will see all the folders and files displayed.
Without the screen, working on files and folders will be difficult.
4) The keyboard helps you to type letters and numbers.
5) The Mouse helps you to move around the computer .
6) The cursor is a blinker that shows you the position or where you are working on the computer.
When you see people typing on the computer it is because they can visualize the position of the keys that is why they focus looking at the computer screen and not the keyboard.
When learning how to use the computer speed is not important at first.
However, your speed will increase when you understand and practice using the Computer always.
