According to security and ICT experts, the implementation of 5G technology would not necessarily solve national problems, especially the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.
This follows after the Federal Government's announcement last week Wednesday of plans to deploy 5G technology.
OluGbenga Odeyemi, an ICT expert and Senior Partner of e86 Limited, in an interview with Punch offered technological insights into the philosophy of 5G technology, which he believes would eventually open the door to a more secured digital economy.
However, he did say that the technology had a flaw that limited how effective it could be in combating insecurity and that all security agent should be better equipped and re-oriented.
In a separate interview with The Punch, Nkemdilim Begho, a leading ICT expert and the CEO of Futuresoft, claimed that 5G would be the foundation of a global digital economy with limitless possibilities.
However, he went on to say that technology alone would not be enough to solve Nigeria's security issue.
Nnamdi Anekwe-Chive, a national security analyst, agreed on the need to improve human capacity development, adding that Nigeria's biggest problem is a lack of adequate capacity to combat insecurity.
