MTN has launched an e-sim (embedded sim), this type of sim enables you use your sim without inserting a sim card. The sim is built into the phone, and not just smartphones, other devices are supported as well.
What are the benefit?
1) e-sim enables you to have more than one phone number associated with your smart device.
2) the possibility of losing your sim has been reduced because it's inbuilt.
3) you no longer have to deal with cutting your sim cards or searching for sim card adapters.
4) it is extremely convenient for travellers, enabling them to switch between network providers easily.
The e-sim will run for a limited time for limited subscribers with compatible devices.
The list of compatible devices are...
i)The Samsung S20 series.
ii) Apple iPhone 11 series.
iii) Google Pixel 3, 3Xl, 4, 4Xl.
