Why PSG Might Not Go Far in the UCL Even With Messi, Neymar and Mbappe This Season

PSG heads into their next Champions League match on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes against RB Leipzig. The Parisians are group leaders with 4 points after two games.

PSG was earlier tagged as the favourites to win the UCL after the signing of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi. But recent PSG games have shown that it's not only by having the best players in your team that matters but also other factors.

Here are 3 reasons why the French team might find it difficult to progress farther this season in the UCL if these issues are not rectified:

Low Tactical Prowess

Mauricio Pochettino tactical ability has been put into question in recent games. A team with the likes of Messi, Mbappe and Neymar is not supposed to struggle the way they have in the last 5 games.

PSG struggled to beat Angers in the last match they played.

Poor Team Understanding

The players in the present PSG squad don't play as a team. The team is full of individuality. Everyone plays what he feels like. The team plays without unity or cohesion. How PSG can be restrained was exhibited in their champions league match against Club Brugge where the team's players were caged.

The lack of experience from the coach shows in certain matches. Pochettino isn't much experienced with big teams in the Champions League which makes it difficult for him when facing tougher opposition.
