Following the Suspension and ban of the Twitter social media network in Nigeria by the Nigerian Government last week Friday, The Nigerian Government has gotten a verified account on another microblogging site known as Koo.
The Nigerian Government has their verified account on the social media channel as “Government of Nigeria” @nigeriagov with 6,570 followers as at the time of filling this report. The account was Created on the 10th of June, 2021.
The co-founder and CEO of Koo, Aprameya Radhakrishna also announced the presence of the Nigerian Government on his Channel and he further said, the social media channel is working on enablling local Nigerian languages on the Channel.
Koo formally known as 'Ku Koo Ku' is an Indian social media channel based in Bengaluru, India. It was developed by Aprameya Radhakrishna and mayank Bidawatka and was first launched on March 1, 2020 in Kannada, India. The Social media channel and application won the Government of Indian's Aatmanirbhar App innovation Challenge in August, 2020 and it is currently having a net worth of over $100 million.
The Koo Social media application supports English, Hindi, Tamil, Telegu and Marathi at the moment and plans to include other languages such as Punjabi, Sanskrit, Nepalis, kashmiri, Bengali and Urdu in the future.
