President Muhammad Buhari, in an interview with Arise TV reveals that, he will not disclose when he will lift ban, on the microblogging and social networking services, Twitter.
The Nations Newspaper reported that, president Muhammad Buhari refused to disclose when the ban on Twitter will be lifted , while he was asked , during an interview By Arise TV.
In a statement last week, that came as a shock to many Nigerians , The Minister of Information and Tourism Alh. Lai Muhammad, announced the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria.
In the statement, Alh. Lai Muhammad reveals that, " The Government was forced to act because of the persistent use of the platform in a way that undermines the cooperate existence of Nigerians".
Following the ban on Twitter, many Nigerians boycotted the ban and accessed the platform via VPN, which the government, through the attorney general also threatened to prosecute violators of the government directives.
