Someone Else Could Be Reading Your Whatsapp Chats. Do This To prevent That From Happening

There are mischievous people out there who just love doing evil things and invading the privacy of your whatsapp is on their list as well. Good enough, whatsapp has some features that you can activate to make sure no third party has access to your chats.

You need to know how your whatsapp can be hacked so you prevent this from happening. First of all, your whatsapp can only be hacked if the hacker has had previous access to your phone physically. Hackers can access your data by various means like WhatsApp web or registering your number on another device.

Whatsapp is almost like Facebook where you can log in with someone else's phone. Registering your whatsapp on another person's phone is risky. Don't do it as they can always login and view your chats.

Then there is the Whatsapp web. Hackers can quickly scan your WhatsApp QR code and access your WhatsApp conversation from anywhere in the world. All they need to do when your phone is with them is to enter your whatsapp, go to whatsapp web where your code shows and scan it with their own phone and that's it. They can now monitor your whatsapp from wherever.

To know if your WhatsApp web is active on an unknown device, go to the three dots given at the top right corner of your WhatsApp window. Go to WhatsApp Web and check the list of all open sessions. This will let you see all the devices that are connected to your WhatsApp.

If you are seeing a message " This phone could not be verified", it means your WhatsApp has been accessed by an unknown device also.

How To Ensure You're Always Safe

1. Log out from all computers that you see in the list under WhatsApp Web.

2.Do not leave your phone unattended when you are out.

3.Lock all your apps to prevent unknown people to access your apps. Apps are available on playstore to help you lock specfic apps on your phone.

4.Do not connect your phone to unknown WiFi connections as hackers can also use the unique MAC address to access all your WhatsApp chats. This cannot be over emphasized. Connecting to random wifi puts you at risk not just your whatsapp conversations now but your email password and other sensitive information

5. In case your WhatsApp is already hacked, deactivate your account by emailing at "[email protected]" Your account will be automatically deleted if not accessed for 30 days.

6.Enable 2 step verification under WhatsApp Account settings. This will add an extra layer of security over the app. From whatsapp settings, go to account. There you'll see two step verification. Put your pass code. You'll be asked for it periodically so you don't forget the code.
