The attacks on their Twitter accounts appeared like a drama and was really coordinated. Other prominent people whose Twitter accounts seemed to be hacked were Uber Technologies, Elon Musk, Kanye West, Michael Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos, and Apple Inc.
Their Twitter accounts tweeted messages promising to double up the money of anybody who sends funds through Bitcoin in 30 minutes.
Twitter announced that it is cognizant of the security occurrence affecting its accounts and they are investigating. Verified Twitter accounts unexpectedly were unable to publish new tweets as the hack was progressing.
Twitter published that affected users may not be able to Tweet nor reset their passwords while they are reviewing and address this occurrence.
Until now, the Bitcoin address that was tweeted by the cyberpunks has received more than 12 Bitcoins, valued at $110,000.
It seemed that the prominent Bitcoin trade, Coinbase has prevented its users from transferring currency to the address.
