Hackers have gained control to the Twitter Accounts of American Billionaires, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama and many more, scamming their followers of millions of Naira in Bitcoin. For context, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, that is like virtual money which is not physical like paper cash. Users of Bitcoin use wallet address to conduct transactions in Bitcoin. Currently, a bitcoin is worth over $9,000, which is almost 4 million Naira on Nigerian Currency
On The Twitter accounts which was apparently hacked, a tweet was sent asking his followers to send Bitcoin to a particular address. Followers of his account fell prey to the scam and transferred varied amount of Bitcoin cryptocurrency to the Bitcoin Address.
The Tweet reads:
I am giving back to the community.
All Bitcoin sent to the address below will be sent back doubled! If you send $1,000, I will send back $2,000. Only doing this for 30 minutes.
Other Accounts including Bill Gates, Apple, Michael Bloomberg, Kanye West, Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos have been hacked.
It is unclear how much people who fell for the scam have lost. But it's running into millions of Naira in Bitcoin.
