Gate of hell or Door to hell is a natural gas field formed after a Soviet drilling rig accidentally punched into a massive underground natural gas cavern, causing the ground to collapse and the rig had gone down with many more engineers and scientist.
Knowing that the natural gas would cause harm to humanity so they had to act fast so the geologists intentionally set the gates of hell on fire to prevent the spread of the methane gas, and it's thought to have been burning continuously since 1971 till date.
