Africa's First Ever Presidential library was built by Nigeria's former head of state: (See Photos).

Built completely in 2017, The Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library(OOPL) idea was concieved in the year 1988. It is modelled after Presidential libraries in the United States, and is one of it's kind in Africa.

It is located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

As per the name, it was established by two time former head of state, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The foundation for the building was constructed in the year 2002, and a committee was set up that same year to oversee, advice, promote and establish the magnificent structure.

The library is a home of national artifacts, historical centre, academic treasure hound, and is used as an archive for the preservation of documents and other things used by the former president during his tenure.

The exhibits in the museum displays for the World to see the rich culture of Nigeria and to experience how the former president lived during his tenure.

The Presidential complex comprises 32 hectares, and the archives houses over 15 million documents, 2 and more million books and 4,000 artifacts relating to Obasanjo's two times in power as head of state, and more of contemporary Nigerian and African history in general. It also includes an open air amphitheater , a 1000-seat auditorium, a 153-room hotel for guests, several restaurants and bars, a small amusement park , a wildlife park, and an amazing observation point and a very beautiful view.

From reviews by tourists, the library has exceeded expectations and has been rated a 10/10 according to ratings, and is one of Nigeria's top tourist attraction centers.
