Port Harcourt is the capital City of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is also the largest City in the state. It is located in the South-South geopolitical zone, and in the Niger Delta region. It is one of the top oil producing cities.

Port Harcourt City is blessed with lots of beautiful places someone could visit to have a memorable time. Here are some of the places:

1. Port Harcourt Gulf Club

Port Harcourt Gulf Club is a beautiful place to be. I remember being told that the club was established far back in 1928. The Gulf Club is located in Forces Avenue, Old GRA, Port Harcourt. If you are in Port Harcourt or you are planning to visit Port Harcourt, try to visit the Gulf Club and have fun with your friends.

The Club has hotels, restaurants, lounge, table tennis hall, bar, club house, internet and lots more. The Club is open for everyone to visit.

2. Port Harcourt Pleasure Park

The Port Harcourt Pleasure Park is a public place where people go with family and friends to have a nice time. It is a recreational park. The Pleasure Park is located just between Rumuomasi and Rumuola, After Rumuola Flyover, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

I had a good time when I visited the Pleasure Park because there was Cinema, international restaurant, among others. The natural environment gave me a feeling I wouldn't want to forget in a hurry. It's a very nice place to be.

3. Port Harcourt Zoo

Another beautiful place to visit is Port Harcourt Zoo. The Zoo is located about 22 kilometers from the Airport. The zoo houses animals such as lion, cobra, gazelles, turtles, donkeys, ostriches, and many other animals.

You will witness alot of things when you visit the Zoo, especially on Sundays, where you stand a chance of viewing how the animals feed and how they are fed. The Zoo also has a museum where you see things for yourself.

4. Port Harcourt Beach

This is a tourist attraction centre. I was told that it was commissioned far back in 1988. Since then, tourists and other people have been going there to relax and have fun. It has a museum and tour guide. Fresh or old palmwine and local foods are also available.

5. Rivers State Cultural Center

The Cultural Center is located on Bonny Street. This place is where the culture of Rivers State and its people is displayed and appreciated. If you visit the Cultural Center, you will be opportuned to see ancient art works like African pottery and figurines, which are usually displayed for public viewing. You can also buy local art works from the Center.

6. Sir Isaac Boro Park

Isaac Boro Park is an open and accessible relaxation center where anyone could go to have a good time. It is also a place for recreation. It is located very close to the road, along Old GRA, Port Harcourt. The park was named after a military rights activist. The park is decorated with statues of past military men and their weapons, among other nice things.

7. Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium

Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium is located in Omagwa axis of Port Harcourt. It is a place where lovers of sports and everyone else could go to gain fitness. The stadium has a capacity of about 38,000. The stadium has a hockey pitch. It is one of the most equipped stadiums in Nigeria. It was opened in 2015.

8. Bonny River

This river is located in Bonny, Rivers State. You could go ferrying or fishing in the river, as there are lots of fishes to be caught and consumed. The ferrying and fishing experience is a wonderful one, as you will not forget it in a hurry. If you have not gone ferrying or fishing in Bonny River, please do.

But do not forget to wear life jacket for safety purposes. There are lots of canoes and hooks to be used for the ferrying and fishing process. You will surely enjoy the experience.

9. Bonny Island

Bonny Island is located immediately after the Bonny River and it is surrounded by beaches where you could go swimming. It is a place where people go to have fun with family and friends. You could choose to visit Bonny Island on every 31st of December, as thousands of people visit the beach for beach festival. Going there on a sunny day is great.

10. Port Harcourt City Mall

Port Harcourt City Mall is a place for fun seekers. It houses a shopping complex, cinema, many food courts, video games centres, relaxation centres, among others. When you visit such places like Port Harcourt City Mall, you may not never want to go back.
