Hotels and tourism outfits operating in Akwa Ibom State, who have dealings with cultists and criminals will be closed down by the state government. The Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ini Ememobong dropped the information in a statement signed by him and made available to journalists in Uyo on Thursday.
Part of the statement read " Take notice that the state government will shut down hotels and other entertainment centers linked with cult and criminal activities. This decision is informed by credible evidence that hotel owners and proprietors of entertainment centers have given their premises to cult groups and other criminal gangs to use as their base".
The government statement advised the proprietors and managers of the affected outfits to take note and act accordingly. The recent increase in cult activities in Uyo, the state capital has resulted in lost of life and properties.
