Mysterious Places In Osun State, Nigeria.

Here are some of the mysterious places in Osun State.

1. Erin-Ijesha Waterfall.

Erin-Ijesha waterfalls is located in oriade local government in Osun State Nigeria.

The waterfall was discovered by hunters and is said to be medicinal so many people comes from different parts of the world to drink from the water and get healed.

Erin-Ijesha waterfalls is known by the people of the town to be a sacred place where their soul can be purified, so with this reason they carries out sacrifices and celebrate the waterfall annually.

The most wonderful thing about the waterfalls is that it has seven levels with each level different from others.

2.Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove.

Osun-Osogbo sacred grove is where you can find a lot of ancient sculptures, sanctuaries, shrine and lot of monkeys. The grove is regarded as the abode of goddess of fertility.

The grove is a mystical place and source of spiritual strength and growth for the Yoruba people. 

The sacred grove is located at the outskirts of osogbo city.

In the grove an annual processional festival takes place to strengthen the mystical bonds between the goddess and the people of the town. The festival takes place for twelve (12) days in the month of July and August.

The Osun-Osogbo sacred grove is also part of National Tourism Development plan that was established with World Tourism Organisation and United Nations Development Program which serves as Africans' heritage.

3.Oduduwa Shrine and Grove.

Oduduwa shrine and grove is located at Ido Area, Oduduwa street, Ile-Ife in Osun State

The grove is a site where Oduduwa landed through a chain to found Ile-Ife and as well as his final resting place.
