Qatat is a peninsular Arab country whose terrain comprises arid desert and a long Persian (Arab) Gulf shoreline of beaches and dunes. Also on the coast is the capital, Doha, known for its futuristic skyscrapers and other ultramodern architecture inspired by ancient Islamic design, such as the limestone Museum of Islamic Art. The museum sits on the city’s Corniche waterfront promenade.
In 2019, the City administration of the capital of Qatar, Doha, began painting city roads in blue, as part of a project to combat the effects of extreme heat.
The temperature of dark asphalt is 20 degrees Celsius higher than the actual temperature, because black attracts and radiates heat. Currently, only on one of the central streets of the city, where the temperature can rise up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) due to the lack of trees has been painted to blue colour
Doha engineers believe that painting asphalt will help reduce its temperature by 15-20 degrees, as well as increase the service life of the coating(Asphalt).
Qatar will also host the 2022 world cup. The blue face of the roads in Doha will be very relaxing and beautiful to the veiw of visitors during the world cup period.
Qatar is indeed one of the wonder lands of the world. Here are few photos of the blue painted roads.
