One secondary school student has been killed, while unspecified number of varsity students were kidnapped, by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, in Imo state. The gunmen attacked the students on Sunday, September 19, in Okigwe Local Government Area, Imo state. The deceased student was identified as a student of Marist Comprehensive Academy, Uturu, in Abia state, while the abducted students were students of the Abia State University, Uturu.
According to a recent report reaching us from the Daily Post, unknown gunmen had invaded a political meeting in Enugu West and threatened the political leaders there. Following their invasion, some fled for their lives while others managed to be captured by the group and told to lie in the mud after they had been beaten and molested by the unknown gunmen.
