The session opened on Tuesday, September 14. The theme for this year’s UNGA is, “Building Resilience Through Hope – To Recover from COVID-19, Rebuild Sustainably, Respond to the Needs of the Planet, Respect the Rights of People and Revitalize the United Nations.”

Bandits devise another means of communication even with the shutdown of telecommunications networks.

It has been reported by a member of the house of Assembly in Sokoto State, Aminu Almustapha Gobir representing Sabon Birni North Constituency that bandits now use Nigerien networks to communicate and threaten communities and individuals. As part of measures to check banditry, telecommunications networks had been shutdown by the Nigerian government in three States: Sokoto, Zamfara and Katsina State.
