The rate of crisis looming over the Cross River State government is becoming alarming. The rate at which protests are becoming the call of the state calls for concern. Just in one month, the state has witnessed up to three different protests. Firstly, it was a protest from civil servants who claimed that the government has refused to fully implement a minimum wage and the implementation of 27.5% teachers enhancement allowance, amongst others.
The Cross River State Governor, Sir Ben Ayade will be bowing out of office by 2023 to be replaced by another politician who will oversee the affairs of the state. The governorship seat will not be gotten as usual. It will be one of the greatest political battles Cross River State has ever witnessed.

It's Unconstitutional For South To Insist On Presidency. The Northern Governors’ Forum, NGF has said that the South’s insistence on producing the next president of Nigeria, con tradicts the provisions of the constitution. They stated their position after a meeting in Kaduna on Monday.
On Monday, the South-South governors in Nigeria met at the government house in Port Harcourt to discuss issues bordering the region. They spoke on the Value Added Tax (VAT), issues bordering on the NDDC, security, and others.
