Police Stop Bandits From Invading Another Police Station Bandits were killed early hours of Sunday during a gun duel with the police in the Katsina-Ala town, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has had a difficult time dealing with Fulani herders. The Governor of his state has declared war on the herdsmen after signing an anti-grazing ordinance. I don't blame the Governor because his people have been slaughtered in the hundreds by these killer herders who carry AK-47s merely to protect themselves and their cattle.
Barring all unforseen circumstances the All Progressives Congress will have its national convention very soon and new leaders of the party will be elected one year after the dissolution of the National Working Committee of the APC. For one year now the party has been without elected leaders. The National Executive Council ordered the caretaker committee, which was used to replace the Adams Oshiomole's committee to conduct a national convention.
Attacks on police officers and infrastructures gradually are becoming an order of the day as bandits involved in such violent acts are growing wilder by the day. Officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Benue state command had arrested about five bandits who were detained at Katsina-Ala Police Division for further investigations and possible prosecution due to the several killings and attacks launched on both the people of the community and the security agents at large.
Insecurity in on the increase even as the Federal government is intensifying her effort to cob her challenges. One of the region most hit is the Northeast and north central especially Benue State who are faced with Herdsmen and banditry attack and are now sleeping with their eyes wide open.
On sunday morning, a day set apart for service unto God, was a day the the bandits attacked a police station in Benue state. The police authorities reported that 14 bandits were killed during the attack. The gunmen who were about 50 in number launched and attack in the early hours of sunday morning on a police station at Katsina- Alan town of the state, their aim of the attack was to free some of their members who where arrested and detained by the police.
Reactions have trailed the report circulating on Social Media pages about a mentally derailed man identified as Mr Denen, who is offering free medical services to people with different medical challenges that were not cured at the hospital. Former Benue State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Sule Yaji, said Governor Samuel Ortom has the leadership semblance of brevity, straightforwardness of the late Aper Aku, his predecessor. Yaji was the Deputy Governor of Benue State at the time Aper Aku was the Governor between 1979 to 1983.

Alhaji Sule, who paid a visit to Governor Ortom at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi today, praised Governor Ortom as fearless, straightforward, and proactive, much as Aku, and said Benue is fortunate to have such leaders.
Recall that Benue State Government had in the previous year granted their workers free workdays during planting and harvesting season to enable them to cultivate and also harvest their crops on their farmland. The Benue State Government has declared Thursdays and Fridays as free workdays to enable workers to engage in farming activities till 30th July.
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom said President Muhammadu Buhari shocked him and other Nigerians when he granted an interview to Arise News and insisted that the grazing routes of the 1960s must be reopened to grant cows free passage to all parts of the country. Governor Ortom stated this in his keynote address delivered at the 2021 Nigerian Bar Association annual law week which held in Makurdi with the theme "Open Grazing in Nigeria: Threat to National and Food Security, National Cohesion and Sustainable Development."

Police Rescue Catholic Nun From Kidnappers In Benue The Police in Benue State have rescued a Catholic Nun from fleeing abductors in Ichama forest in Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state.
