Court Dissolves Parallel EXCOs of Rivers PDP, Questions Legitimacy of Gov-Elect Fubara's Candidacy
In a landmark ruling, the Abuja High Court has dissolved the parallel executive committees (EXCOs) of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State. The court declared that the EXCOs responsible for nominating Siminialayi Fubara as the party's governorship candidate, in the primary were not the authentic EXCOs recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Olympics Qualifier: Nigeria weightlifters returning from Tunisia with 12 medals
Nigeria’s delegation of five weightlifters and two coaches will return to the country on Friday after they won a total of 12 medals at the 2023 Senior Africa Weightlifting Championship in Tunisia. The weeklong competition also serves as the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games. The team is billed to arrive in Nigeria via Lagos early Friday.
