The Eiye cult group has always announced August 8 of every year to hold celebrations in some South-West states, with the celebrations sometimes ending in violence and, in some cases, death.

According to a news that was posted by Daily Trust Newspaper yesterday night, it has been alleged that the supremacy war between the Eiye Confraternity and Aiye confraternity in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has led to the death of another young man who was watching football inside a viewing center.

According to a news that was published by Punch Newspaper this morning, it has been alleged that the crack team of police detectives, Kwara State Police Command have successfully apprehended 16 suspected cultists, as they confessed to be members of Eiye and Aye confraternities.
A student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has been killed, while two others sustained severe injuries during a cult clash in Ilorin.
