Political alignment ahead of the 2023 Imo State Governorship Election has begun in earnest as Politicians in the Eastern State are already warming up to slug it out with the incumbent Governor Hope Uzodinma.Notable among these Governorship Hopefuls are 1.Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha The 55years-old Ihedioha is the immediate past Governor of Imo State, he was removed from office following a Supreme Court Judgement about Nine months after his inaguration.
In my previous article on this same topic which was published on the 26th of April, 2021 and can be accessed HERE, I discussed in details, how the removal of Emeka Ihedioha by a Supreme Court's judgment may have saved him from a dilemma. This is due to what is going on in Imo state of recent in terms of security.
A lot of political analysts have asked the same question, as they wonder if Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, will be able to regain his mandate, as Govenror of Imo State in 2024, if the Philip Umeadi suit, currently at the Supreme Court, fails to materialize.
Emeka Ihedioha, a former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and the People's Democratic Party's Governorship Candidate for the March 2019, Imo State Governorship election is undoubtedly, a man that is well loved across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State. It can be recalled that Ihedioha contested and won the Imo State Governorship election in 2019 according to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and was sworn in on the 29th of May, 2019 as the Executive Governor of Imo State.
The recent happenings in Imo state in terms of insecurity and governance have undoubtedly made many to appreciate the few months administration of Honourable Emeka Ihedioha. It is no news that within the few months that Emeka Ihedioha spent in office as the Executive Governor of Imo state, Imolites felt the presence of government within their localities, while civil servants in the state began to smile again.
The seven months administration of Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo State, can be clearly differentiated from the present regime of Senator Hope Uzodinma. This is due to the circumstances surrounding their emergence, and as well as the perception of the people of the state. To understand the clear difference between the administration of these two individuals, it is important for us to look at the place of power and authority in government.
His Excellency, Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, CON, Yesterday 2nd May, 2021, stormed Mbaise part of Imo state and was a Special Guest of Honor at the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Egbu, Imo State.
Indeed, the 2023 Imo elections have become an issue of discussion, as several political parties in Imo State are already strategizing. However, the former governor of Imo State, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha, is a force to reckon with on the Imo political scene and some Imolites opine that he(Ihedioha) would record a landslide victory against in the 2023 Imo State elections.
Indeed, Governor Hope Uzodinma is doing his best in Imo State, however, he seems not to be as appreciated by his people, as he should. You may recall that Supreme Court removed Honourable Emeka Ihedioha as governor and replaced him with Governor Hope Uzodinma and many Imolites were not in support of him.
Ahead of the 2023 Imo State Gubernatorial Election, Political Realignment has begun in earnest as politicians are jostling for Attention and Recognition.Notable among those that could slug it out with the incumbent Governor Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) includes the immediate past Governor of the State, Rt.
Dear sir, I write this letter to express my thoughts to you on your 2023 political ambition.First and foremost, I want to commend you for being such an amazing politician, as you have remained very peaceful, regardless of the way you were removed as the Governor of Imo State.
No Imo governor, have faced the kind of rejection from the people, Senator Hope Uzodinma has been facing with Imo people, right from the inception of his administration. The reason isn't rocket science. The controversial ruling of the Supreme Court, that installed Hope Uzodinma, removing Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, who had earlier been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, as the winner of 2019 General Elections, has yet to be forgotten, or forgiven by Imo people, who feel exploited by the ruling.
On the Imo political scene, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha is a force to reckon with, as he has served as a representative in the House of Reps and as the Governor of Imo State.Indeed, his tenure ended abruptly due to the Supreme Court's ruling on the 14th of January, 2020, which saw Hope Uzodinma as the new Governor.
You may recall that Governor Hope Uzodinma was declared Governor of Imo State, by the Supreme Court on the 14th of January 2020 and this decision did not go down well with many Imolites, as Honourable Emeka Ihedioha seemed to have warmed his way into the hearts of many Imolites through his excellent performance, within a very short time.
After the Civil War, Imolites have not witnessed the kind of unrest as the have seen in recent time and this has brought so much fear to their hearts.Indeed, we have witnessed the attack of the correctional facility, Police Stations and the the presence of gunmen on the streets of Owerri.
Imo State is arguably the most unsecured state in the Southeast geo-political zone. This High level of Insecurity in the state can be said to never has been witnessed before.Today, one can easily conclude that there is a form of war going on between the IPOB, ESN, unknown gunmen and Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Imo State is arguably one of the states that has never experienced good governance since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.The oil rich state despite its richness in terms of mineral and human resources, has remained one of the unemployment capital Nigeria. This is due to lack of good governance in the state, and the will power to create employment opportunities for the people.
The removal of Emeka Ihedioha as the Executive Governor of Imo State by a Supreme Court judgment of January 20, 2020 undoubtedly caused a sort of disdain for the government and it the judiciary among millions of Nigerians. It is no doubt that during the 2019 Imo State Governorship election, hundreds of thousands of Imo people trooped out and voted a candidate of their choice in the person of Honourable Emeka Ihedioha, but his tenure was truncated by the unpopular Supreme Court judgment that brought in Senator Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the election, against the will of the people, and as well the result declared by thr Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In 2020, Mbaka Said God is Raising A New Hope, In 2021, He Says God Has Rejected Hope Uzodinma- Reno
Popular Human Rights activist and People's Democratic Party chieftain, Reno Omokri has again taken a swipe at the Founder of Adoration Ministry in Enugu state, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka.Reno Omokri who is known for his versatility and outspokenness stated on his verified twitter account that in 2020, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka said God is raising a new hope that would be an agent of salvation for Imo state, South East region of Nigeria.
Rev.Fr.Ejike Mbaka is a man of God and a prophet of God.He has been the advocate of Nigeria for from what God revealed to him.And almost everything he prophesized normally comes to pass. His target for a while has been in the side of politicians he had once presented a candidate to be voted for as a governor in his state.
