Opinion: Wike & Udom's relationship has stabilized South South PDP; Akpabio & Amaechi failed on this
The cordial relationship that exists between Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Emmanuel Udom, has been of tremendous benefit to the Peoples Democratic Party in the South-South region. The continuous dominance of the party in the region can be attributed to the smooth relationship between the two governors.
The National Assembly last week passed the Petroleum Industry Bill. A crucial aspect of that bill saw the lawmakers vote 3% of oil revenue for host communities in the oil-rich Niger Delta. 30% of the oil revenue was voted for Frontier Basin. Frontier Basin simply means the exploration of oil in states in Nigeria where it appears the country can find oil.
