A university undergraduate who is a sanitation officer working with the Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) was on Wednesday, June 2, awarded a scholarship to complete her academic programme. The student, Miss Adekunle Adijat, said to be a final-year Mass Communication student at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has been a sanitation officer with the agency for about two years, while also running the part-time course at the university.

The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps has stated that a vehicle in a single-vehicle accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday caused the death of one individual and the injury of two others. It happened at at 6:03 a.m. yesterday, and the commander of the Mowe-Ibafo Division, Mr. Olusola Ojuoro, told the Nigeria News Agency that it was during this time that the incident occurred.
