Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari's choice of new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major-General Farouk Yahaya. The president, according to a statement by the acting Director Defence Information Brig-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu on Thursday approved the appointment of Major-General Farouk Yahaya as the new COAS to replace Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru who died when a military jet conveying him and ten others crashed at the Kaduna international airport last Friday.
