As the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) intensify their struggles for the actualisation of the Sovereign Nation of Biafra in the South-East, insecurity appears to have sky-rocketed in the region. And the public menace of barbaric killing of innocent souls and vandalisation of public assets are always said to be committed by the unknown gunmen.
Prior to the deployment of the police tactical command in Imo state, there have been consistent attacks by members of the proscribed Eastern Security Network. Security formations, logistic post and other critical government infrastructures were targeted and destroyed. For instance, the state judiciary was destroyed by these criminals tagged 'unknown gunmen'.
Since the recent months, the extent of the breakdown of securiy in the South-East is nothing new. And it continued to deteriorate with the passage of time, even to the extent that the members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) ordering that the flag of NigerIa be pulled down in all the states of the region.

Introduction The tension brewing in Nigeria today is a result of what had started years ago. It was the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) that first alleged that the government is treating the southerners as second class citizens while giving soft hand to the northerners. In fact, the group accused the Federal Government of engaging in plans to islamize Nigeria.
The proscribed organisation known as the Independent People Of Biafra (IPOB) has once again instructed its members to stop the rearing and consumption of cows in the southeastern region of the country. This latest instruction was confirmed by Sahara Reporters. The people living in the southeastern part of the country must totally ignore this command as it has no basis in Nigeria's legal system.
As it is known, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) is an Igbo freedom-fighters association that was created by the currently embattled Nnamdi Kanu in 2012. It is headquartered in Imo State which was the state of origin of the late Odumegwu Ojukwu. Ojukwu who was the first pioneer of the movements for the actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra which the IPOB members are also presently fighting to achieve.
Following the deployment of the Abba Kyari and his team of Policemen to Imo State, several members of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) and other Eastern Security Network have been arrested. One of such people that was recently arrested is Benjamin Emeoyiri. According to the report reaching our desk from The Cable, Benjamin Emeoyiri is one of the commanders in the Eastern Security Network that happens to be affiliated with the Independent People of Biafra ( IPOB).
The Middle Belt Forum of Presidents of Youth Organizations has called on the Federal Government to officially denounce the atrocities carried out by armed herdsmen across the country. The youth presidents also want the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and other Fulani socio-cultural groups arrested and prosecuted, since they have repeatedly admitted to indiscriminate killings and destruction of villages across the country.
The Southerners are currently frustrated about the recent activities of Herdsmen in their territory. The Southern Governors have decided to place a ban on open grazing in order to "alienate" the Herdsmen from the region.

According to Kanu, it was wise for him to leave the country because he felt his life was in danger.

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said that he will continue to fight against the implementation of laws given by the alleged leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Nyesom Wike said he will continue to stand by his words, that the activities of the Independent People of Biafra will not be carried out in South-south, it is unacceptable especially in Rivers State.
