Photo Credit: The Conversation Following the emergence of former Senate President Iyiorcha Ayu as the consensus candidate for the post of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, all attention in the PDP camp is now focused on the presidential ticket race. As part of the deal that produced Ayu as the consensus candidate, PDP leaders have agreed to throw the presidential ticket race open to all the regions, as against the initial plan to zone it.
Photo Credit: Premium Times Following the ratification of the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi zoning committee report which recommended that the position of People Democratic Party Chairman be zoned to the North, Dr Iyiorcha Ayu has now emerged as the Consensus Candidate of the Northern PDP. The committee’s zoning recommendation was contrary to the earlier expectation that the office would be zoned to the South, and specifically South West.
