The media reported yesterday that operatives of the Joint Task Force of Police and Federal Road Safety Commission in Nasarawa State intercepted and arrested a terrorist’s arms carrier by the name Likita Abubakar, a Fulani man, with 53 AK-47 magazine guns, 260 rounds of live ammunition, and N38,500 in cash.
The Civilian Joint Task Force are mostly young and patriotic Nigerians who aspire to complement the efforts of the conventional security forces in tackling the dreaded terrorist group known as Boko Haram in the northeastern region of the country. The Nasarawa State Police Command has paraded a bandit that was caught with some dangerous weapons in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state. The police said that the bandit was arrested with 53 AK-47 magazines and 260 rounds of live ammunition. The 35-year-old young man gave his name as Likita Abubakar, and upon interrogation, he confessed that he was taking the weapons to Plateau state.
