A truck crushed four people to death in Lokoja, the capital city Kogi state. The incident occurred on the 29th of July 2021 at about 7PM, within Gadumo 200 unit, along Ajaokuta road. According to reports from DAILY POST, the truck which was coming from Ganaja village lost control when the driver was trying to bypass a bad part of the road under construction and it fell on a loaded tricycle, popularly called Keke NAPEP.

Ayuba Edeh, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 8, Lokoja, revealed that two soldiers were killed at a roadblock near the Kabba correctional center and that over 100 prisoners fled after hoodlums stormed the facility overnight. The troops were alleged to have set up a normal checkpoint approximately 50 meters from the prison, which is located along the Lokoja- Okebukun-Kabba route when the hoodlums arrived and opened fire on them before storming the prison.
