The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently announced the addition of NGN 50 billion (USD 120 million) to its Targeted Credit Facility, a stimulus program for micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as well as households affected by the pandemic.The funding will be disbursed through NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, which is minority-owned by CBN’s Nigerian Incentive-based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL).
In a bid to battle the high rate of unemployment currently eating away at the youths of the country, the Lagos State government has decided to provide N40,000 Monthly stipend to 4000 unemployed graduates.This was achieved through the Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP).This program is an initiative by the Lagos State government which aims to assist Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as other companies to choose from a large variety of interns and groomed talent in order to improve their business which in return boost the general economy.
