The federal government of Nigeria has lifted the previous ban on the sales, registration and activation on new Sim cards with compulsory linking with the national identity number starting from Monday, 19th April, 2021.This was approved by the minister of communications and digital economy on Thursday 15th April 2021 and declared in a statement signed by the technical assistant of information technology in line with the Nigerian communications acts of 2003 section 23.
