Truly, the All Progressives Congress is moving closer to its national convention. The exercise became necessary following the removal of the erstwhile chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and the dissolution of his National Working Committee. After several delays, the party will head to convention very soon. However, the party may be unevenly divided ahead of the exercise.

The former ruling party has slated its convention for next month, during which new National Working Committee members will emerge who will run the affairs of the party for another four years.
About one week before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds its convention, some National Working Committee (NWC) positions that were zoned to some regions have continued to generate crisis because stakeholders from these regions have not been able to agree on a consensus candidate. The position of deputy national chairman that was zoned to the Southwest, national secretary (Southeast), and now, National auditor (Southeast), could not produce a consensus because of disagreements among party stakeholders.
Recall that PDP has just concluded their ward and local congress which made them elected those who are capable of running the party's affairs as new executives across all the states in Nigeria. The former Nassarawa State governor, Tanko Al-Makura, has given his words that he would love to become the APC national chairman. He wants to try his own luck as well so as to replace the deposed chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. The national convention in which the new chairman would emerge will be conducted soon.
